My sincerest apologies for not posting on my blog for the longest time and not visiting blogs dear lovelies. You see, I haven't seen my sisters and my mother in three long years and I took the time off to spend time with them. It was a fun month bonding with them as we took a vacation to different parts of the Philippines. I had dreamed to go to the famous beach of Boracay and what better way to experience it for the first time than with the people you love the most. The crystal clear waters, the powdery soft white sand and the joyous atmosphere had us spellbound. I'm definitely coming back real soon.

I have to admit I haven't been feeling well lately, physically and emotionally. There are times when fate decides to turn your life upside down for no reason at all and you're left at grasping straws in the dark so to speak. They say you have to wallow in grief, if only for a while to be able to move on with life and I have allowed myself to do that in the past few weeks. But then, life has so much more to offer and I know that when I get through this, I'd be first to explore the things that are in store for me.

I haven't picked up my camera in three weeks and one beautiful afternoon, my friend tried to shoot me with my 50 mm lens. It's a prime lens and has a manual focus ring but it shoots splendidly. We ended up with a lot of blurry pictures and those above are the ermm "the best of the bunch" haha. The bag I'm using came from an Anna Sui "e-mook" (the bag is like a freebie inside of a magazine) I got at Kinokuniya and it's been my favorite lately.

It's funny because as a child I was a bit tomboyish and back then I used to pout whenever my mom puts a dress on me. Oh how times change. There just goes the saying "never say never" isn't it?

In my travels, I always make time for myself to wander alone and immerse myself in the sights and people, even if it's just for a few hours. There's something very poignant about it, spending time with your own self and with your own thoughts. You get to examine yourself in a different environment and even surprised at how interaction with people rekindles our faith in humanity. In malaysia, I spent a rainy afternoon on a cafe, just sipping coffee and listening songs to my ipod, not the least self conscious about it. In singapore, I tried to take a picture of myself using a timer and a kind female traveler offered to take pictures of me. In return, I snapped pictures of her too and got to talk about recommended shopping spots. It was a pleasant encounter with another person of a different culture. In macau, I traveled alone for the first time and it was the scariest moment of my life. But I came home knowing that strangers can also be kind and they could be found in a lot of places. I know that I'm not the first to do this and that other people have a lot more experience travelling the world but experiencing it yourself, it's one amazing experience.

I'm well aware that I don't post personal photos that much on my blog and sometimes I feel like my blog is devoid of personality, so to speak. I celebrated my birthday last week with friends in Singapore and it was unexpectedly full of surprises though my trip itself was spontaneous (bought my plane ticket 3 days before my flight). Of course celebrating a birthday with my family was my dearest wish but going to Texas isn't an option hehe. Sharing some candid photos of my birthday trip with you guys!

My friends took me to a Turkish restaurant on the eve of my birthday. I've always wanted to try Turkish dishes but there aren't many Turkish restaurants in the Philippines. It's delicious!

I got this dress at a thrift store about a year ago and never really had the chance to wear it as it was blingy. This was at the hotel after a night of dancing.

My best friend and I unsuccesfully tried planking because the timer caught us.

Generally just fooled around with the camera before sleeping.

This steak lunch was a birthday treat from my best friend. We used to bond over finding new restaurants to eat in Manila before she moved to Singapore.

Friends surprised me with this beautiful birthday cake! I actually got three birthday cakes that day and I'm one happy birthday girl!

My friend and I both took off from our busy schedules to plan a midweek jaunt to the beach to practice our photography skills and finally felt relaxed as the salt tinged breeze blew by. It was the perfect way to unwind a weary heart and soul , realized that life, however hard, must go on and toasted with mimosas to the blessings that life will continue to bring.

I'd like to think that I undergo fashion phases. I remember being obsessed with the little black dress and wore them almost everyday until someone asked me if I was in mourning. There was also a time when I was totally head over heels for Pucci prints. Well, that was a good phase because those dresses are timeless and I can definitely see my future daughters borrowing them from my closet. If my current fashion phase has a title, I'll definitely name it as the anything stripey phase as I noticed that I've been hoarding stripes from the French Breton style shirts to colorful tiered stripes that were obviously influenced by the Marc by Marc Jacobs s/s 2011 collection. I love that they exude a casual but polished look and until I outgrew this "stripey" phase, I'm having fun pairing them with just anything in my closet.

I've been slacking with blogging lately and was shocked to learn that i haven't blogged in a very long time. The past week we've been hit by two signal 3 typhoons and though the cold weather was nice, I'd prefer the tropical hot sunny weather anytime over howling winds. Add to that some work stress, learning to cook korean dishes and my seven year old dog Sandy being repeatedly brought to the vet for prepping for an operation, there has been little opportunity to take pictures and blog. Anyway, I was able to snap some very quick pictures of my outfit and I must say that I've been loving blazers lately especially candy colored ones. They instantly polish any outfit and if it wasn't for the blazing heat in where I live, I'd be wearing them almost every day. I bought this blazer at Yesstyle.com and really enjoyed browsing through asian fashion brands, the styles are just super cute! And oh, shipping is also ultra fast just in case you're interested.

I always anticipate Target's designer collaborations and it's such a fun way to become stylish without breaking the bank. I have quite a few from the past seasons like Thakoon and Alexander McQueen but perhaps there is nothing that I have lusted more than this Rodarte for Target dress. I was lucky enough to snag it when it was reissued and I know that this dress was worn a million times by thousands of bloggers but the feeling was bliss when I've worn it for the first time. Next up, Missoni for Target but sadly, everything seems to be snapped up. Did you hear about the woman who put up a pair of 31 dollar boots on ebay from the collection for 31,000 dollars? Totally bonkers.

I'm absolutely crazy about this dress. It combines everything that I love, namely the color pink, sequins, silk and most of all, a picture of a dog that I will assume as goofy! It's just cuteness overload and even my dogs can't keep their eyes off the dancing sequins ( or maybe they were thinking why I'm wearing a dog face?). Anyway, this one's a keeper on my closet and my only regret is that it would be too memorable to wear often. I also got new shoes from Jellybean on my recent trip to Baguio and I must say they're my favorite store to shop for shoes lately.

Sometimes I think that the weather play tricks on me. Like Murphy's law of probability, where bringing an umbrella would probably mean no rain would ever fall from the sky. Well, it's like that for me whenever I plan to shoot photos, I would sit home, wait for the golden hour and end up with gray skies and rain. Sigh. But I did manage to have some photos taken today and I'm wearing this lace collar that I got from the House of Isla, my fellow blogger Aileen's store. I love that it's detachable and I can wear it in a multitude of ways. Plus, it's really pretty and adds a romantic touch to any outfit.

Enjoyed a laidback sunday with my cousin watching the sunset at a place aptly called Sunset Bay. I think sunsets are nature's way of putting a spectacular show every day and reminds everyone how every single day must be cherished. In the pursuit of material things, I often forget that there are much more important things in my life. I have my parents who think of nothing else but to make me feel they care for me even though they are a thousand miles away, my sisters who reminisce about me fondly and include me on their shopping lists whenever they are on shopping trips, my dogs who bark joyously whenever they see me, my job that allows me to have a comfortable life and a boy that tells me I'm beautiful every single day. The material things I covet would just be the icing on the cake.

p.s. if you see the same pose with the hand on my hair, the wind was blowing so hard that day i had to hold my headpiece to keep it from tumbling off the cliff :D

There is something about thrifting that draws me in. Maybe it's the thrill of finding a gem amongst the endless racks of clothes or the interaction that happens between the seller and me. But perhaps the biggest draw for me is that thrifting is ecologically conscious and it makes me happy to know that I'm not creating more waste by recycling old clothes. Of course, some people might think twice at the thought of thrifting itself but in these days where everyone must take their part in creating a greener planet, it's a warm thought that I can have my fun in being stylish and be an eco warrior too.

Travel Tales: Batam, Indonesia

In my life, I could say that I have friends that has stuck with me through thick and thin. I've known them since high school, went to the same university and it amazes me how much we've been through together. We often describe ourselves as a pair of slippers, in which our friendship can not be complete if the other is lost. During the last two days of my vacation, my friends and I decided to go to Batam, Indonesia, an island 35 minutes from Singapore. We rented a villa there and had the most relaxing time, the perfect antidote to the fast paced sightseeing around Singapore. It was the perfect way to end a vacation, albeit a bit sentimental, but in my heart I know that wherever we are in the world, our friendship never fades.

It's funny how the weather can play tricks on you. My friend and I set out on a sunny afternoon to have a picnic on the beach but by the time we arrived there, the weather had turn into this dreary overcast day. We decided to just stay anyway and snap some pictures but I had this absolute hate of shooting when the sun is not out. Well, the pictures turned out to have this serene, monochrome quality that delighted me and the occasional spray of seawater on my filter added a dreamy effect. An unexpected surprise I must say!

I'm going out of the country for a vacation and I apologize if I can't visit all your blogs lovelies for the meantime. It might look like I'm on vacation all the time with my blog posts but the truth is, most of it are just daytrips or a quick overnighter. I usually work every single day of the week (since it's a business) and really grateful for this trip. Wish me a good one :)

Some goofy photos from our trip last weekend. My cousins and I set out to spend the weekend with our Grandma and it's almost a family ritual how we end up on this beach every time since it's so near. After taking the requisite outfit blog shots, I espied this floating seaweed that perfectly matched the gold trim in my maillot. My cousins and I took turns wearing it and almost died laughing at our silly, silly selves. I hope you don't mind seeing these funny shots, I had so much photos to sort out that this really stood out in my mind.

Chasing Sunsets

I have spent a lot of holidays in this beach with my family as a kid so this place holds a lot of memories for me. But I haven't been back here for so long so I was surprised to find the beach pristine and clean. I arrived just in time for what most people call "the golden hour" and really had just fun shooting, watching kids fly kites and watching the sunset change the colors of the sky from orange, to pink and finally a pearly blue. Truly, the best things in life are free.

Don't you just love the seventies trend that's cropping up everywhere? I had held on to this pair of jeans for years now, thinking that trends just come and go. And what do you know, the flared jeans is back. I admit it's not that easy to wear since I had to wear my highest heels to balance out its flare but I love how it makes the legs seems miles longer. For the petite me, that's just a good thing in my book.

Thursday Work Outfit

Between waking up early, work and other commitments, I always find it difficult to blog during the midweek. Which makes me wonder how other people do it, especially the ones who almost post everyday (kudos!). Sometimes I shoot after work hours but I find myself wan and exhausted. So one morning, I brought my camera with me to work and shot some outfit shots. I wear dresses like this most of the time at work, fast enough to pull, vibrant enough to be young and modest enough for the workplace.

I love finding whimsical vintage pieces whenever I go shopping. The fabric and the construction are usually excellent which you can't see with some clothes today. But I wish I have the talent to sew because I find that some vintage have a "boxy" or "loose" cut that is unflattering to my frame. Nevertheless, I can't stop collecting them and maybe I just have to find the perfect tailor or seamstress to go to.

Okay, I'll go ahead and say it. Valentine's was a sad affair for me. More like botched maybe. And I say that because until now, me and le boyf have an ongoing Cold War about it. How do you celebrate Valentine's day long distance by the way? Yes, I did google it and no, please don't give me that look. Between thoughts of sending each other gifts through mail (we scrapped it) and just trying to stay awake that Monday (we live in different time zones), the stress just became too much. Maybe it's time to let go of it, after all, Valentine's is just a day and there is still tomorrow to make up for it. Who says you just celebrate love during heart's day?

It has been a stressful two weeks at work and when a day off finally presented itself, I grabbed my camera, my ebook reader, some magazines and hied off the nearest beach then monopolized a hammock to myself. Total stress buster and I'm happy again.

Amazing Bangkok

For me, Bangkok is a feast for the senses. So much things to see, from beautiful palaces and temples to the modern shopping malls dotting the city. So much delicious food to savor, from roadside stalls to the elegant food court of Paragon and the open air restaurants high above the city. And the friendliness of the people makes me want to go back again and again. Indeed, it has the perfect mix of the old and the new. I can understand why so many are enamored by this city and I am definitely one of them. So until next time, I can only dream of the food and other things that await me in this beautiful city.

Trend Spotting: Maxi Flourescent Skirts

I have coveted Jil Sander's maxi flourescent skirt ever since I saw it from its S/S 2011 collection for its minimalistic appeal. On the day that I planned to buy a fabric to DIY it, I guess luck has stirred me to visit a thrift shop and lo and behold, I saw a similar skirt on a rack for less than a dollar! And I guess I would have never finished sewing it myself, if I ever did one, because of my poor sewing skills hahaha. I see myself wearing this on an intimate party with friends and I'm loving the unexpected hint of leg because of its side slit.

Hello everyone!

I've been given the Stylish Blogger Award by Aileen plus a Versatile Blogger Award from Honey and Alexa. I'd like to thank these ladies and part of the award would be to reveal seven random things about myself.

1. My parents owned a clothing business when I was young so I used to work in our store and sell clothes. I would see all this fashion labels and every kind of clothes imaginable. That's where my love affair with fashion began.

2. I have three dogs and currently five fluffy white puppies. One day, I'll have a hard time parting with them :(

3. Obsessed with Jil Sander's flourescent twill skirt as seen on famous bloggers. Perhaps I'll DIY one of these days.

4. I love breakfasts. I think I've mentioned it before hihihi.

5. I would love to own a yacht but that would only come true if I won the lotto. Which would be one in a million, or billion.

It's funny how things can turn a total 360 degree. About two years ago, my best friend and I thought of nothing but dressing up and clubbing on the weekends. But now, we just make-our-own sushi and pizza at home for dinner. And what's more perplexing is that on a recent girl bonding at my house, we perused the internet for destination weddings and vera wang's (we're both not engaged hehe). So I ask myself, is this growing up? Somebody said to me that I have to experience everything I have to for my age in order to grow up, so I guess looking for wedding ideas seem a part of my age bracket. :)

Now about this outfit, I know I'm kinda late on the denim-on-denim trend. But I love how comfy and casual they are. Just the perfect thing to grab on a weekend like this.

Despite being said that Christmas has become way "too commercialized", i think what matters is the spirit of giving and well-being when we give our loved ones the perfect gift. Just to see a smile light up a receiver's face makes the holiday stress worthwhile. I'm enjoying a few quiet days before Christmas and I've been reflecting the quiet holidays I'll be having. Christmas used to mean my extended families gathering and I used to abhorr comments I get from relatives, like "when did u become fat?" (believe it or not, it's a standard greeting in my country). But now I kinda miss my curious aunties and rowdy cousins.

Just one last outfit post before the holidays descend on us and I'd like to greet every visitor on my blog a Merry, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Hello everyone, are u feeling the holiday rush yet? I sure do. I bought 50 rolls of gift wrapping paper and i'm still needing more. But once in a while, I reminisce how christmas used to feel so magical when i was a kid. So when I saw a literal "Santa's house" on our local mall, i excitedly went inside and snapped away.

And some pretty japanese lanterns light up the roof. At this point, I was happy as a camper clicking shots when a guard went up to me and said "Ma'am what are you taking pictures of?". Party pooper. What is it about slr cameras that make guards nervous? Needless to say, I got pretty mad and retorted a crisp reply.

Anyway, this dress-lover does wear jeans too and I've always loved the classic white shirt and denim combo. I just have to tweak my shoe and bag choices and then I'd be good to go.

Dark Fairytales

Over the weekend, I was reading Angela Carter's collection of stories and I love how her tales depict a particulary dark fairytale. The characters are quite familiar but not so because they all have a twisted tale to tell. There's Snow White who was borne out of her father's fantasy and not her mother's, a Cinderella who was wed to a Marquise de Sade and so on But what I liked most is that her writings are so rich, she interweaves stories with luxurious elements like a Poiret white gown, a blood red ruby necklace and hundreds of keys that holds treasures.

On a lighter note, have you done your christmas shopping yet? I haven't and I'm absolutely in scrambles to make a list. My only complaint is that the variety of merchandise have become so generic or is it just me?

Tex-Mex

Last Saturday, my dad and I held a Thanksgiving/ early christmas party for some of our friends. Our theme was Tex-Mex and it was fun cooking new dishes to serve to a party.

It was my first time to cook Tacos and I had no recipe at all butI tried duplicating the ones from Pancake house. The guests liked these tee hee :)

Made a batch of wicked margaritas, to carry on the Tex-Mex theme.

And meet the newest member of my shoe closet, it was my birthday gift to myself. I was lucky enough to snag these Vivienne Westwood for Melissa sandals. They had only one piece left in my size at Greenbelt and said that it was reserved for a VIP. But they released it to me since they probably saw the devastated look in my face. The balls on top of the shoe looked like they belong in the christmas tree! Too cute!

Wearing a one shouldered jumpsuit for the party. I've been dressing so much casually these days and jumpsuits are an easy way to get dressed in the morning.

Hello! So I'm wearing one of my favorite dresses and I'm thinking of "retiring" it as I have worn it quite frequently these past few years. I see nothing wrong with repeating outfits and a change of accessories plus shoes is an exciting challenge in my part in making the outfit look "new" again. My dad and I had a spare time before his appointment so we went to this beautiful hotel by the sea that allow visitors to stroll around their boardwalk for free. Isn't it the most wonderful thing when suprises like this happen?

Traipsing through the countryside

The past two weeks have been one of the most enjoyable breaks I've had so far, I'm sorry if it took me so long to reply to your comments. A vacation to another country is surely rejuvenating but nothing beats moments here with friends and family. All pictures here are taken at my Grandma's farm in La Union when we visited her for her 82nd birthday. I always love going to her place because of the quiet lifestyle and how pristine nature is there.

Hello everyone! So things have been slow on the blog front lately due to me getting a bout of stomach flu ( i think i'll stay away from indulging in clams, for a while). Today has been the first day in which i've felt dressing up and I'd like to show a Marni dress I've recently acquired. This dress originally had a drop waist and tulip shaped skirt but I hiked the waist up a bit with a belt to give it some shape on my petite frame.

I just love the geometric patterns and prints of the dress, it had me mesmerized when I first spotted it. The sabrina neckline is a nice touch too, I adore how modest and classy it is.

Hi everyone! How's your Thursday? I was excited to experiment with my dad's pasalubong (gift), a nikkor 50 mm lens so I snapped my work outfit today. I wanted to keep my outfit from being too girly so I searched for the perfect accessory to go with it. I espied this floral fedora hat I got from SM a month ago and it just blended with my outfit. And oh, I'm having a nude shoe phase too!

A night out in the City

On a recent girl's night out with my best friend, I want to look quite decent for dinner before heading out to party so this leopard scarf came to the rescue. I love how leopard prints are popping out this season and how they make everthing chicer. As long as its faux, of course.

I'm wearing an Armani Exchange dress, leopard print scarf from SM, vintage bag and Schu peeptoes (my most comfy heels ever!).

Also, I'd like to thank Ate Che of the blog Dressing up for Me for giving the Happy 101 award. And with it, I have to answer 10 things that make me happy:

1. My loved ones. My family, le boyf, my best friend, my friends, my dogs. They all make my life worth living.

2. My Ipod Nano. I take it everywhere and I love putting it on when I have to concentrate when crunching numbers.

3. Travel. The memories and experience of travelling are just so precious.

4. Shoes. Giovanna Battaglia was quoted saying "the lower I feel, the higher the heel". I just love how shoes instantly boost my mood.

5. Daniel Craig as James Bond. Those piercing blue eyes and blonde hair. I wanna be his Bond Girl, yeah.

6. Photography. Capturing the sweetest images are an obsession.

7. Beach. The sound of crashing beach waves, the blue colors of the water, the wind in my hair, and the soft feel of sand rejuvenate me like no other.

8. Cooking. I express my love through cooking and is such a great bonding activity.

9. Bed Linen and Pillows. Quite out of place but I love having the softest pillows and heavenly linen when sleeping.

10. Of course, DRESSES. The reason why I started this blog on the first place. Designer, high street or thrifted, they all have a place in my closet.

Coloane is considered to be Macau's countryside, with its beaches and traditional villages. I wanted to get away from the big city lights of the main island so I woke up early and hailed a taxi to get to Coloane Village. With its numerous beach coves, it was was said to be a haven for pirates until 1910. Very interesting fact isn't it? Marvelled at the beautiful colors of the Church of St. Francis Xavier and just relaxed by the beach side avenues that dot the island. A perfect way to end my vacation.

Travel Tales: Macau

My trip to Macau started like this: I didn't catch my plane. I've set my alarm wrong and ended up taking another flight 12 hours later. But that mishap didn't dampen my excitement, instead it just gave truth to this travel advice: when travelling solo, you have no one to rely but yourself. I love Macau's blend of old and new. The historical buildings and monuments are such a joy to photograph while the looming casinos provided luxurious entertainments to just immerse yourself in. I enjoyed walking around on foot because there just so many things to see.

Leisurely Wednesday

So I found myself today just spending a day of leisure. And by leisure, I meant breakfasts at 10 am, flipping through japanese fashion magazines like Vivi and JJ en horizontalle on the sofa while watching tv, playing with my rowdy dogs, talking with the boyf on skype for 3 hours and getting dressed in whatever suits my mood to run errands. Not exactly the most practical thing to run errands you say but made the task less, erm, dreadful. A great wednesday all in all.

All I can say is that it's so fast paced and exciting that I couldn't put it down and come Sunday night, I felt my eyes were straining due to reading. I can't wait for the movie to come out!

I'm wearing a lace blouse/dress which I unearthed during closet cleaning. Amazing how old clothes can turn "new" when you find them again isn't it?

I love how weekends are full of possibilities. But I must say that a day or just a few hours along the beach is one of my favorite things to do. Luna Lighthouse Ruins

Hi everyone, Happy weekend! Just sharing some photos of the old Luna Lighthouse, an ancient lighthouse built by the Spaniards in the town of Luna, La Union. This structure has withstood time as you can see by how the structure is built. I just found it sad that there are no indications that the town is maintaining it and we had found it difficult to locate the lighthouse despite spending every summer swimming in the beaches around it. The lighthouse is becoming recently popular as a site for prenuptial photos.

Crashing like a tidal wave that drags me out to sea

Whenever I go to visit my grandma, my bag always contains a swimsuit, sun dresses and spf lotion. The roads I drive by have an astounding variety of beaches, some with dark sand, others with crashing beach waves perfect for surfing, a powdery white sand beach and like this one, a beach full of pebbles of different sizes. Packed a simple meal of coffee, a baguette loaf and some cheese and went for an early morning swim with my cousin. Ahh, a simple but rejuvenating vacation I must say. There is also an ancient lighthouse built by the colonizing Spaniards in the 1700's and I'll show some pictures on my next post.

Tangerine Rosettes

Talk about double checking. So I was invited to a birthday party through text messaging and absent-mindedly thought July 30 is a Saturday. Lo and behold, I was at a mall gift-hunting this Friday when the birthday celebrant called and asked about my whereabouts. It turned out that the party had started and I had no hope of catching up. So much about anticipation and sent my heartfelt apologies to the birthday girl, promising a celebration for deux.

On another hand, I tried to wear this silk Chloe blouse that I bought ages ago. The billowy shape is quite challenging as I'm not exactly size zero and I'm petite. But I also think that fashion should be fun and there's always room for experimenting, don't you think?

I swear, people stopped and stared at my glasses whenever I walked past by them at the mall. I decided to give them a try after seeing them on numerous bloggers. I liked how it kinda "hid" my face, like a mask, that made me comfortable. Today was a humid day and I wanted to be comfortable at work so I wore this very casual dress and added some leggings to make it "work appropriate". I know you've seen just about everything I wear in this post but I do get attached to some of my clothes and accessories that I always repeat them :)

Also, I'm excited to travel again to Hong Kong and then to Macau ( I've never been there) but this time, I'm going by myself. Some people say, travelling alone has the greatest impact on their lives. At some point, I realized that what I wanted 5 years ago was not the same as what i want now. Call it a cliche' but i feel like rediscovering myself again and hopefully the experience will improve my "shy personality" haha. Is this what they call mid-quarter life crisis? Hmm.

Had this oriental tuna sashimi for lunch. Lately, I've been destressing over food because work has been so busy this week

Would you believe that I picked this dress up at a supermarket? It was such a steal that I went back for it after my culinary class and my classmates proceeded to tease me that I was preparing for a "date". The color has such a calming effect on me that I semiconciously chose it for another busy and stressful day at the office. But then, I make all sorts of excuses to dress up and my day becomes fun when I feel nice in what I wear.

Hi everyone! So how was your weekend? It was the perfect weather to just stay at home, eat something hot and lay back in comfy pillows. Snuggled with the dogs when they were afraid of the thunder, watched a dozen movies till I fell asleep and sipped the perfect cup of coffee while watching the rain. And oh, indulged in this teenie yummy cheesecake to cap off the weekend :)

I'm quite obsessed with this editorial from Vogue Korea. Everything is just perfect! The clothes, the makeup, the location. Oh, if I could only wear something like this everyday. Nevertheless, it gave me an idea on how to pack and revolve my wardrobe for my next vacation. First two pictures are from the Vogue Korea website and you can see the rest of the editorial here.

And this is my take on the whole nautical theme. I don't own much tops but when I saw these on sale, I immediately thought "sailor stripes!" and bought it even if the lady on the register is buying the same top as I am. Now where could I get that fabulous sequined jacket to go with it?

I love windy days. There is something poignant about leaves rustling and trees swaying in the wind. Not to mention how cooler the temperature is. But I do hope no one gets hurt ( as there is a typhoon raging in some parts). Be safe everyone!

I actually don't own much violet in my wardrobe but I super love the prints in this dress, I am smitten by it. I think this piece is a keeper in my closet and I can see myself wearing it again and again.

Also, some carnations for everyone! I was pleasantly surprised to see this in the market this morning (it is not a native flower here) so I scooped a bouquet or two, placed them in a tall vase and immediately felt them lighten up the house.

So here I am, trying my hand on something vintage. I have this dress for years already and everytime I clean out my closet, I never seem to give it up. There's a quality in the cut and fabric that vintage dresses have and it must have been nice to dress up like this everyday. I wore this for some cake and coffee yesterday, and since it was a holiday, enjoyed a much leisurely break.

Black Lace

There's something about black lace that is utterly romantic and chic. I feel like I can always wear pieces like these and just change my accessories then I'd be ready to go. So I packed this dress along with some blazers I never get to wear for a weekend in Baguio (a mountain city) with my cousin. Drank endless cups of coffee amidst the pine trees, ate delicious pizza the entire time, went bar hopping, talked to a cute korean boy, ogled at the effortless trendy style of korean girls, went to visit the Ben Cab museum, shopped for necklaces, then went home tired but happy. All in all, an amazing weekend.

I've been looking for airplane tickets for a while now (i haven't really been to boracay!) but until then, I can only dream of white sands and blue sparkling waters. I wanted to imbibe a carefree beach-like vibe today so out came this dress with a multitude of colors and crazy prints, tied my hair in a scarf and imagined I was on the way to tropical paradise (but really on my way to work). Maybe soon (fingers crossed).

So yesterday, I had a date with my guy which was cut short by an emergency. I couldn't fault him too much because it was a weekday and in my frustration, went to Greenbelt for some retail therapy. I dropped by at Adora and found an amazing deal on Cheap Monday jeans (buy 1 take 1) plus got my eyes dizzy and happy with all the fabulous shoes on display. Ran my fingers on sexy Dolce and Gabbana dresses, Missoni prints and tried on Manolo's. Truly a treat for a girl.

BUT at the end of the day, I realized that I really missed him when I mused to myself that I could give up the shopping in exchange for a day with my love.

Roman Holiday

Roman Holiday is one of those movies I can watch over and over again. The fashion of that era is one I admire very much and Audrey Hepburn's costumes in the movie are fantastic. Inspired by her, I pulled out this skirt that I never seem to wear because of the length and paired it with a fitted top. I would've put on a scarf like hers but couldn't find the perfect print hehe.

And speaking of holidays, I'd like to share some photos of our trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. It is a wonderful city with friendly people, good food and amazing shopping :)

This is the City Mosque in Kota Kinabalu. It is an exemplary of Islamic Contemporary architecture and the man made lagoon surrounding it made it look like it was floating on water.

And sharing one personal picture with you guys, of the boyf and I infront of the Menara Tun Mustapha (Sabah Foundation Building). This building is one of only four hanging structures in the world. It has a revolving restaurant in the 18th floor but sadly, we didn't get to eat there due to time constraints. le boyf doesn't smile very much in photos because he's kind of formal and conservative but he loves it when I make him laugh. :) At the end of the trip, I realized that all of the shirts he wore were the ones I bought for him ( I pick something for him too when i go shopping).

The rains have been pouring spontaneously over a week now and I love the cooler temperature. But what I don't like is the rain seeping into my feet, making me cold and cranky. I've been eyeing these boots for quite some time now and a change of weather cajoled me into purchasing it along with some umbrellas.

So I finally succumbed to a trend. I went ahead and finally got myself a blazer. I love how it kind of "toughens up" a girly outfit and lend some tailored clean lines. I also like how it adds warmth to an otherwise windy and chilly day because of the rain.

Paired it up with my glitziest dress ever, a fully sequined halter dress for some dinner. This is part of my room by the way.

Sorry for all those wires and stuff sticking out my secretaire, this is my workstation in my room. And if you look closely, there's a picture of the boyf beside my laptop. I know, kind of cheesy hehe. The calendar at the back is set to April 2009 and until now it's still there. My mom bought it for me since she knew I love dogs. I guess everytime I look at it I remember her indulging me in my love of pets.

Found the perfect earrings to go with my garnet flower ring. I bought this gold metal rose earrings at SM department store in Baguio. They have the prettiest selection of accessories there. I've been actually wearing them everyday since Monday!

I've been clutching my wireless remote for my camera, hence the weird pose. A friend from Tokyo gave it to me, after seeing me run when I set the self-timer. Thanks Gabby!

Sometimes, even everyday jaunts can seem like an adventure. While driving along the coastal road of Pangasinan from a meeting, we stumbled upon this scenery. There was a halo-halo stall overlooking this beautiful view so we stopped to eat the delish dessert and admire the surroundings. I asked my duenna if she wanted to explore the unspoiled beachfront so we took of our shoes and dipped our feet in the cool beach waters. Even if it was just an hour, it was like a eenie mini vacation and returned home with a smile in our faces.

My mom calls me the "energizer bunny". She say I don't know how to stop and rest. Well, this energizer bunny got sick with a hacking cough so bad she feels embarassed to go anywhere (sorry TMI!). So I kind of told myself to stay at home for days until I can breathe and feel better. Armed with a laptop on my bed and some hot tea, I finally had that blissful rest. I've been reading your blogs lovelies and i could finally comment on your pretty pretty pictures of summer fun and fashion.

I've been working straight for three weeks now and you know what they say "All work and no play makes jack a very dull boy". So when an opportunity presented itself, like a power interruption halting our usual work, I escaped the heat and drove two hours to the cool mountains of Baguio. Spent the day with my girlfriends eating frozen yogurt, walking under the sun without getting sunburnt and admired the flowers that sprung up around Burnham park. Though my day out lasted only a few hours, I felt light, happy and thankful.

Hi everyone! How's summer treating you so far? I wore this outfit the other day and my friend thought I was inspired by a watermelon. All I've been wearing these past few days are bright colors and I thinks it's so perfect now when the summer heat is relentless.

The summer bounty is at its peak and I bought these flowers the other day from the market. They say flowers are a luxury, I'd say if it's a luxury that makes you happy and enjoy rarely then go for it. Beside, flowers brighten up any home and improve one's mood. One hundred one and counting...

On our first trip for the summer, the boyfriend and I headed to the Hundred Islands, one of the most beautiful beaches in my own province. With just the two of us in a boat, it was like seeing the islands for the first time again. Proving that the world can indeed be small, he met two of his countrymen there. Luckily, I packed a lot of food and there was enough to go around, chatting and swimming away the day. Wearing a Charlotte Russe dress, Salinas bikini and my summer hat that seems to follow me in every summer destination :)
