Fashion Week

Hi guys! How is everyone! Christmas is such an express train, hurtling down on us from day one. I know i haven't made an update in such a long time but here is an event I went to in the name of fashion: Philippine Fashion Week. I was invited to the show of designer Happy Andrada (thank you for the invite!) and I immensely enjoyed it, as it its my first time on a fashion show.

Me on the line going inside the hall. I'm wearing a vintage dress scoured from my vintage jaunts, Schu snakesin sandals (seriously comfy) and my also vintage chain link bag. Sorry if the photo is blurry.

I dragged my bestfriend to watch with me and though she is not into this kind of stuff, i super love her because she went with me. The wonderful thing that happened to us that night is that designer Veejay Floresca, Project Runway Philippines winner, sat beside me with his friend, also a designer, Don Protacio. My best friend, being the extrovert that she is, immediately chatted up with the designers as i just stood there dumbstruck.

These are the only pictures I catched with my "low-tech' camera haha as all images that resulted are so blurry to post. As with fashion shows, this one lasted only for 20 or 30 minutes. The bf went there after, taking us to dinner. I love how bf's give space on fashion-related or anything girly related stuff haha. Only seven days till Christmas guys! Felices Navidades to all!

My Birthday Dinner

Posted by cherie |

Another year came by and I had to say goodbye to the previous age that I was. So many things happened to me this year in just a span of months and I am thankful. So last week, I decided to have a birthday dinner with my uber best friend at Cav in Bonifacio High Street:

(wearing Plains and Prints dress, Schu semi gladiator shoes, a ring that was a gift and vintage bag)

The salmon carpaccio salad was to die for with its unique taste. We finished every bit of this! My friend's entree was the Salmon on a bed of pasta and she tells me that this is divine as the salmon literally melts in your mouth. Mine was the short rib stew and this is quite good too. The restaurant is filled with beautiful people as it is a prime spot. Let me say that I spotted a lot of eye candies while dining and that is such a treat in itself. After all, it's my birthday heehee!

After dinner, my friend had the brilliant idea of blowing bubbles in replacement of our childhood baloons and I tell you, it's hilarious! Bonifacio High Street is actually an open air promenade of shops and restaurants with a lot of green spaces. So it was cool to just sit there and blow bubbles. A very cute kid actually came to us wanting to blow the bubbles and we had to hide the bubble wand from him to make him go home with his parents (awww, we felt bad doing that but it's 11 pm already hehe)

And last but not the least, this is my new haircut! Do I look okay in this? haha. My friends tell me I look so young (so that's why the teen kid keeps looking *thwap!) but it's a refreshing change. According to my beau, he loves it and I do too. So there, after all the disasters that happened ( our house got flooded too and I tell you post flood depression is one thing i dont wanna happen to us again), it was so nice to just go out, have fun and be in the company of someone so enjoyable.

I was so shocked to learn that I haven't updated my blog in a month! There are so many changes in my life now that blogging took a backseat. All I can say is that it is a start of a new chapter in my life with a new love and new things career-wise. I miss reading all of your entries and commenting on your beautiful, fashionable photographs. Honestly, I haven't been fashion forward during the time I wasn't blogging so I'd like to get on track, discover and reconnect with the blogs of our fashionable sisters and get inspired once again. It is so sad what happened to everyone during the storm Ketsana that it might be insensitive to post pictures of fashion when everybody is needing. So if you have time, let's offer a short prayer for the victims and if you have the resources, donate to the numerous agencies for much needed relief.

Oh wait a minute, Mr. Postman

A rather sartorial surprise arrived by the mail today and it contained beautiful dresses! You all know my fascination for clothes, whether it be something from thrifted stores or high street, they all hang lovingly on my closet. My buyer sent me a package of clothes for private viewing and though I'd like to keep them all, I regretfully have to send some of them back. These are some of my top picks and can you guess which are these?

Another long weekend commences and I'm stuck at work haha. For the lucky ones who trek to the beach and family get togethers, have a good one!

I'm guess I'm what you call as a girl's girl. I love spas, shopping and all the feminine rituals that almost all women at some point indulge. I came across an article sometime that women unconciously dress for other women, meaning, those baby doll dresses, ruffles and laces are cute to the eyes of girls and not boys. If that's the case, then, I admittedly dress for other girls. But I think these frothy confections of dresses highlights our feminine features too and some men will like it no doubt. :D I'm kinda rambling here haha, but it has been too long since I blogged and thank you, thank you for the sweet comments. Perhaps, now that the long weekend has commenced ( Friday- Sunday), I will have time to read your blogs and be inspired once again.

P.s. I'm obsessed about Longchamp bags now that I have one. Very easy to use and foldable too! And I'd like to post a very hearty shout out to my cousin who gave me a bag and I didn't realize until six months later there was a cache of Givenchy perfumes inside. Surprises are just wonderful aren't they?

Can't resist Zara

(Zara dress, vintage belt, Figlia shoes)

Normally, I wouldn't shop at Zara because tons of girls shop there and I might suddenly have a doppelganger at a party or what you might call as "wearing the same dress". Also, the mad dash for racks and racks of clothes do scare me, making me less prone to make a purchase. But one lovely Sunday morning, I went to the mall and found Zara quite quiet. Maybe it was my mood or the fact that I just had a romantic saturday inspired me to go and take a look. After that moment, I was a convert! This dress is just one of the three I've bought (best part is they're on sale too).

Meanwhile, I also passed by Tickles, a "wasteland" full of pretty things. I bought one of their hanging accessories for my car and I leave you with its very tongue-in-cheek message. I hope no one gets offended by this but I just found it amusing. Because girls shouldn't settle for second best. Have a great day everyone!

There's something about summer that is so carefree and relaxing that I miss it so much. Nothing gets me down like a steady downpour of rain and I generally do not knwo how to transit from summer fashion to fall fashion, OR layering at least. So, I post some pictures of a summer before, with some Bossa Nova music and a Pina Colada, in remembrance of a season so enjoyable.

Have a great weekend everyone!
